What the Kurds Should Learn from Hamas

Share

Whenever a few pro-Palestinians militants get killed, the entire world seems to jump on its feet, condemning Israel, and once again places the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at the top of the news, disregarding much greater violence taking place in other parts of the world.

The world seems to easily overlook the killing of 120 Kurdish rebels while it keeps on dealing with the "Great Massacre" of 9 armed militants who took a ride into Gaza pretending to be peace activists. The world resonates Arduan's speeches against Israel but does not discuss much the fact that while condemning Israel on killing 9 armed militants he vows to destroy all and crush all Kurdish rebels.

The Kurds do not seem to get the attention and sympathy the Palestinians get.

Why? because the Kurds are doing it all wrong. They lack the great PR skills the Palestinians militants are much equipped with.

Here are some tips for the Kurds people that will help them win the sympathy of the entire world and place their conflict at the top of the international community and peace activists' agenda.

The name
PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party - Kurdish: Partiya Karkerên Kurdistan) will not get you far. This name lacks the requited pathos and therefore is not capable of drawing the right attention to your struggle. You should pick up a name with much greater intent like: KLO – the Kurds Liberation Organization or something like HAMAK (Kurdish Resistance Movement - Harakat al-Muqāwamat al-Kurdiya).

The improper name is the reason why you are always regarded simply as Rebels instead of Militants. In the media Rebels are regarded as a group of people who simply stand up against a government. Resistance Movement Militants are regarded is freedom fighters.

Civilians Engagement
You should get women and mainly children involved in your militant actions. Being bombarded by Turkish air raids getting hundreds of freedom fighters killed without a single picture of wounded children or women is a waste. Make sure you get enough children and women around your freedom fighters and get your cameras ready.

If you feel you cannot morally or technically do it, Stage it!

If you accidently kill your own, take some pictures anyway and show the world what the Turks have done. See how well the fake or at least disputed story of Mohammad Al-Durra worked for Hamas.

Claim Much More
Do not be reasonable and claim the piece of land you inhabit now. Claim the entire territory of your enemy. Claim the whole of Turkey to be the true Kurds land. Undermine the Turks right to exist as they inhabit the ancient land of the Kurds. And do not worry, Historical facts do not matter. Stick to your story and you will be surprised how history can be easily forgotten or even altered.

Sustain Poverty
Keep your people poor. Take over any funds collected for the Kurds welfare and use it to arm yourself better. This way you will be able to fight your enemies better and show the world the poor state of the Kurds population supposedly as a result of the Turks oppression.

Focus on one Foe
Even though Egypt and Jordan (the true Palestinian state) are much to be accounted for the bad state of the Palestinian people, Hamas are smart enough to focus on one foe and one foe only.

You should focus on one foe as well. I suggest you focus on Turkey. Leave Iran and Iraq aside for now.

Find a Jewish or Zionist Connection
The Jews and Israel are an easy target. Their moral boundaries prevent them from taking the same immoral measures their enemies take and thereby they are portrayed as weak. Try to find a Jewish or Zionist connection in your foes. Try to portray the Turks, for example, as the extended arm of the Zion. Everybody likes to bash at Israel.

Lie, Lie, and Lie again.
Do not put up a fair fight. Distort reality as much as you can. If you lie in a constant fashion for a long period of time, people will eventually believe you and take what you say, do, or show as the ultimate truth. You yourself will eventually believe in your own lies.

Hamas are definitely not pro-Palestinians as they do much damage to their own people than their supposed enemies. But they are definitely Pros. You should learn from them if you want your struggle to succeed and get the global attention it deserves.
